Snorkelling The Offshore Islands

This tour will take you to some of the best snorkelling areas off the North coast of Sulawesi.

In the early morning our boat Sindbad will take you along Batu Pendeta (Priest's Rock) and the eastern coast of rugged Bangka island to the small isle Kinabahutan which is inhabited by sea nomads. The area is renowned for pearl husbandry.

You will have a first snorkelling in the coral gardens off Kinabahutan and Talisei islands and amaze at the rich variety of clambshells and other molluscs and corals such as red sponges, basket and tube sponges, anemones stocked with clown fish, brightly coloured crinoids, giant tunicates and deer stag corals.

Then continue to Gangga Island. You will get off at the predominantly Muslim fishing village of Gangga Dua to have a look around and then walk down to the south of the island to visit another village, Gangga Satu, this time predominantly christian. At Gangga Satu you will be met by Sindbad to continue to Pantai Panjang snorkelling area. In the afternoon return along the pancake rock cliffs to Pulisan Jungle Beach Resort.
