Two Volcanoes Tour: Mt. Mahawu and Mt. Lokon Volcano Hiking with Pulisan Jungle Beach Resort

This tour allows you to trek up to two volcanoes in one day: Mt. Lokon Volcano (1580 m) and Mt. Mahawu Volcano (1311 m).

In the morning our car will pick you up at Kinunang village and take you to Tomohon, the flower town of the Minahasa Highlands. At 750 m altitude you start your guided trek up to the Mt. Lokon crater at 1300 m. Climbing up through a rocky and in parts slippery riverbed might take you 1.5 hrs. before you reach the crater. After an hour's descent back our car will take you to a local restaurant that serves Minahasa cuisine to fuel up for the next volcano: Mt. Mahawu. On the way you have a stop at the picturesque Highland Market which is the most important in the region. Then we drive you up through a mountain landscape arduously terraced for vegetable growing. After ascending into mountain forest finally the car stops and you will climb up 15 minutes to the crater of Mt. Mahawu that offers you breathtaking views overlooking the Minahasa Peninsula from the Pacific Ocean on the Bitung side to the Indian Ocean on the Manado side. If time allows you can circle around the crater.

The trip back will take you along scenic Minahasa farming villages overlooking the Tondano lake caldera at an altitude of 700 metres.
